I was very surprised that these were so affordable for such a great look. They arrived already put together (praise be), the color is good (kind of a reddish-brown cherry), the rushes are nice and comfortable too. My big complaint, however, is that the foot rests (the cross pieces near the floor, if you know what I mean) are considerably lower than any other stool I have ever used. The pair of stools I already had that I bought these to complement have foot rests that are a good 4" higher. I am an average height woman, and my feet just barely reached them, meaning sitting on this stool for more than 5 minutes left my legs completely numb. This is a common problem for women, and probably no one taller than 5'6" even knows it's an issue, but I occasionally go to restaurants that have those trendy chairs just a bit taller than normal ones and my feet just graze the floor. It's a miserable experience. If you want these for children, they will find it very difficult to climb up on. So I admit it isn't a problem for everyone, but for those that it IS a problem for, it has the potential to be a pretty major one. If you are a tall person, you should have no fear in purchasing them. I am happy with the stools otherwise, and feel they are a good value.
