I saw an ad for the Drake swivel stools at American Signature Furniture. Took the 50 mile round trip only to find out they don't stock anything in the "store" -just displays. But it could be paid for ahead of time and picked up at store a few days later. Ok, I really wanted 2 stools for my new counters, and they were on "sale" for about $30 each. So I did it. Drove there the next Saturday. The truck was "delayed". Waited an hour -the truck was "delayed". No explanation offered or given. Manager said can you use managerial help. Ok. I'll take 2 from the floor displays. Oh no! Ok, I'll take my money back. End of ASF -Ever!
So I looked thru' Amazon. (Should have done that first.)
Lots of offerings -but not all with the best reviews.
Then I found these by WINSOME WOOD!
I wanted a dark Red (almost a Cranberry).
These are beautiful in person -almost irradescent.
They are easy to operate -very smooth to swivel, and the seat is easy to adjust.
The width is perfect for someone under 200lbs.
One thing: The general instructions are in Ikea-speak -which is to say, drawings and numbers.
However, the pneumatic tube comes with a cap and a written warning that once it is inserted in the stand it cannot be removed. FOLLOW THIS.
They cost a little more than the cheaper ones, but shipping thru' Amazon is free, so you won't be sorry.
